Bedsheet Sizes in Pakistan: Single, Double & King Size Guide
Buying a new bedsheet online is easy, but getting the right size is where most people go wrong. A sheet that is too small pulls off the corners every night, and one that is too big looks untidy. This guide explains the common bedsheet sizes in Pakistan and how to pick the right one for your bed.
Common mattress sizes in Pakistan
Most Pakistani homes use one of these mattress sizes. Always measure your own mattress, because sizes vary slightly between brands.
- Single bed: about 3.5 ft x 6.5 ft (roughly 42 x 78 inches)
- Double / Queen bed: about 5 ft x 6.5 ft (roughly 60 x 78 inches)
- King size bed: about 6 ft x 6.5 ft (roughly 72 x 78 inches), the most common double bed in Pakistan
- Mattress height: usually 6 to 10 inches, and spring mattresses can be thicker
Which bedsheet size should you buy?
A flat bedsheet needs to be wider and longer than the mattress so it can tuck in on all sides. As a rule of thumb, add about 2 x the mattress height plus 8 to 10 inches for tucking, to both the width and the length.
- Single bedsheet: for single beds in kids rooms, hostels and guest rooms. Shop single bedsheets.
- Single pair bedsheet: two matching single sheets for twin beds. Shop single pair bedsheets.
- Double / king size bedsheet: the standard choice for master bedrooms. Shop double bedsheets.
How to measure your mattress
- Measure the width from one side to the other.
- Measure the length from head to foot.
- Measure the height (depth) of the mattress.
- Compare these numbers with the size given on the product page before you order.
Do not forget the mattress cover
A mattress cover sits under your bedsheet and protects the mattress from dust, sweat and spills. Choose a cotton mattress cover with zipper for full protection, or a waterproof mattress protector if you have kids at home. Make sure the cover matches your mattress size too.
Choosing fabric after size
Once you know the size, choose the fabric. Cotton is the best everyday choice for the Pakistani climate because it is breathable and easy to wash. Read our guide on how to choose the best cotton bedsheets in Pakistan, or browse all cotton bedsheets.
